And, just like that, we\u2019ve reached the end of the year which, for many of us, means either returning to our home towns or going away on holiday.<\/p>\n

But, as everyone reading this article can probably agree on, nothing ruins a holiday like constant worry; the anxiety of leaving one\u2019s home unattended for an extended period of time<\/strong> can remove the joy out of a vacation. This anxiety can be severely exacerbated if there are multiple access holders to your home<\/strong>, ones that you would rather not have entering if you\u2019re not around \u2013 for example the security man.<\/p>\n

Would it make you feel better at ease knowing that, if you have a CENTURION gate motor installed at home, you can electronically lock down the entrance to your home?<\/strong> If the answer is yes, we have good news for you.<\/p>\n

Many CENTURION gate motors offer a feature known as Holiday Lockout<\/strong> that, when enabled, inhibits all inputs on the controller and configures the operator to ignore triggers from all devices except the one that invoked the feature. What this means is no remotes will be able to operate the gate until the exact remote button that enabled the feature is pressed and \u201cunlocks\u201d the gate motor, helping to prevent unauthorised access while you are away.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is remarkably easy to make use of this useful feature<\/strong> as we will demonstrate with the brief tutorial below, and requires precious little time and resources for the kind of reward you really can\u2019t put a price on, namely peace of mind.\u00a0 The most common means of controlling the feature is through an access control keypad or normally-closed key-switch, but our new generation operators also makes it possible to program a remote control button to activate and deactivate Holiday Lockout.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can program one of your remote control buttons to activate the feature by following the simple steps below <\/strong>(the following applies to D-Series sliding gate operators<\/a>):<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Press and hold the oblong enter button for two seconds to access the menu.<\/li>\n
  2. Use the directional arrow buttons to scroll to the Remote Controls menu, and press the oblong button again, only momentarily this time.<\/li>\n
  3. Select, using the oblong button, the very first sub-menu, called Add Remote.<\/li>\n
  4. You will now be asked by the controller to select the function you wish the button to perform. Scroll to the Holiday Lockout option, and confirm your selection using the oblong button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If you have activated Holiday Lockout by accident, there are a number of ways that you can deactivate it.<\/strong> You can either press the remote button that was used to lock the system, bridge the \u201cLck\u201d terminal to one of the common terminals using a wire link, or default the controller*.
