{"id":9327,"date":"2013-01-07T08:46:00","date_gmt":"2013-01-07T06:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.centsys.co.za\/the-new-kids-on-the-industrial-automation-block-2\/"},"modified":"2013-01-07T08:46:00","modified_gmt":"2013-01-07T06:46:00","slug":"the-new-kids-on-the-industrial-automation-block-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.centsys.com\/fr\/the-new-kids-on-the-industrial-automation-block-2\/","title":{"rendered":"The New Kids on the Industrial Automation Block"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"line-height: 150%; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">There is a saying in Latin that has always found a certain rapport with me; a few words that seemed to contain the universe\u2019s most basic, most inescapable truth: <i style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal;\">omnia mutantur nos et mutamur in illis<\/i> \u2013 <strong>All things change, and we with them<\/strong>.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">There is no wisdom more true, no expression more astute, than this one; a simple fact bordering on platitude murmured by an anonymous, long-forgotten sage many centuries ago (and one that I happened upon in a now-defunct science fiction magazine).<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"line-height: 150%; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">It is this inborn knowledge \u2013 knowing that <strong>security needs have changed<\/strong> <strong>and evolved<\/strong> over the years and that different companies have different requirements when it comes to securing their assets \u2013 that has led to us adding two new models to the powerful <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centsys.co.za\/?q=ccategory,162,Roller_Shutter_Operators\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RSO range<\/a> of <strong>industrial roller-shutter operators<\/strong>.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Regular readers of this blog may very well already be familiar with the original Trio of Titans (the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centsys.co.za\/?q=cproduct,56,RSO5R_Industrial_Roller_Shutter_Operator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RSO5R<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centsys.co.za\/?q=cproduct,55,RSO5_Industrial_Roller_Shutter_Operator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RSO5<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centsys.co.za\/?q=cproduct,54\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RSO9<\/a>), three <strong>roller-shutter operators<\/strong> custom-built for <strong>heavy lifting<\/strong> and very much at home in industrial settings such as distribution warehouses and production facilities. I\u2019ve always thought it a sign of credibility when companies make use of their own products, and thus speak of the RSO with even more confidence since several of the entrances to our own production facility are automated using these behemoths.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"line-height: 150%; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">As I pointed out earlier, different companies providing different services and manufacturing different products have different security and automation needs. Where one firm might literally require their factory door to open and close and nothing more, another firm might require <strong>advanced time-barring functionality<\/strong> from their automation solution. Yet a third firm might require <strong>battery backup<\/strong> to keep the warehouse secure during lengthy power outages.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Enter the two new kids on the block: the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centsys.co.za\/?q=cproduct,59,RSO5R3P_Industrial_Roller_Shutter_Operator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RSO5R3P<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centsys.co.za\/?q=cproduct,58,RSO5DC_Industrial_Roller_Shutter_Operator\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">RSO5DC<\/a>.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"line-height: 150%; margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Let\u2019s kick off this introduction with the ode to sheer power that is the RSO5R3P. This beast, while on the surface very similar to its close relative the RSO5R, offers <strong>significantly higher starting thrust<\/strong> and a <strong>higher duty cycle<\/strong> thanks to a beefy <strong>three-phase motor<\/strong>. The RSO5R3P offers basic yet undeniably <strong>cost-effective<\/strong><strong>automation<\/strong> for roller-shutters weighing up to <strong>500kg<\/strong>.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">On the other side of the automation spectrum is the RSO5DC. To whet your collective appetites, allow me to proffer two words: <strong>battery backup<\/strong>.
