What it is:<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n

Unique timer technology<\/strong> inherent in our D-Series operators<\/strong> (D5-Evo<\/a>, D10<\/a>, D10 Turbo<\/a> and SECTOR<\/a>).\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What it can do for you:<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n

Using a Real Time Clock and Calendar (RTC),<\/strong> ChronoGuard<\/strong> enables the user to add up to a hundred different Time-periods<\/strong>.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

These Time-periods can be divided into two distinct feature sets, namely:<\/span><\/div>\n

Auto-activations:\u00a0 <\/span><\/b>Auto-activation allows inputs such as Free-exit, Pedestrian Opening, the Courtesy Light, Holiday Lockout<\/strong> and even safety beams<\/strong> to automatically be activated<\/strong> at certain times of the day, week or year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Time-barring of inputs: \u00a0<\/span><\/b>This facility allows inputs, such as remote controls<\/strong> or hard-wired devices<\/strong>, to be barred from working<\/strong> at certain times.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

So far, it all probably seems like a bunch of technical jargon with no real bearing on everyday life.\u00a0 <\/span>So let\u2019s look at it in practical terms.<\/span><\/p>\n

Say, for example, that you have a sprinkler system at home.\u00a0 <\/span>It can be a downright pain in the neck to try and remember to switch it on at a specific time of the day (four o clock in the afternoon, for instance) and then to switch it off again half an hour later, lest you waste prescious water.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

By connecting the sprinkler system to the Auxiliary output<\/strong> of your CENTURION<\/a> D-Series controller and then setting up an Auto-activation to trigger the XIO<\/strong> output every day at 16:00 and then deactivate it at 16:30, you would have essentially passed the buck to your gate motor \u2013 and it never forgets!<\/span><\/p>\n

Another instance of where ChronoGuard would be useful is in cases where you need your gate to automatically open<\/strong>.\u00a0 <\/span>Perhaps you have a garden service that comes every day at 10:00.\u00a0 <\/span>It would be a schlep to ensure that someone is at home to let them in every day, so why not let your trusty CENTURION gate motor take care of it for you?<\/span><\/div>\n

Simply enable an Auto-activation to trigger FRX<\/strong> (remembering to set your Autoclose<\/strong> so that the gate will close again!) and Bob\u2019s your uncle!\u00a0 <\/span>As if by magic, open Sesame!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>So that\u2019s Auto-activation.\u00a0 <\/span>What\u2019s this Time-barring business all about?<\/span><\/div>\n

Time-barring literally stops certain inputs from working<\/strong> at times defined by you.\u00a0 <\/span>In other words, say you own a business and you have given all your employees remote controls.\u00a0 <\/span>However, they only work from Monday and Friday and, for security reasons, you don\u2019t want anyone having access to the premises over weekends.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Using ChronoGuard, you can bar RF inputs<\/strong> over the weekends and anyone hoping to work some \u201cunscheduled overtime\u201d will be met by a gate refusing to acknowledge their remote\u2019s signal.\u00a0 <\/span>From a security<\/strong> point of view, this puts you at a considerable advantage.\u00a0 <\/span>Even if you have other access control devices such as keypads<\/a> and proximity card readers<\/a> installed, you need simply time-bar physical inputs<\/strong> as well to ensure that there\u2019s no way in after hours. <\/span><\/div>\n
