font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt\/normal 'Times New Roman';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><strong>Disconnect the two motor wires<\/strong> from the controller (PC board).<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>The motor wires are generally rather <strong>thick<\/strong> and <strong>black and blue in colour<\/strong>, though they can be any colour.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>The terminals on the controller where the motor wires are connected will be marked \u2018<strong>MOTOR<\/strong>\u2019 or \u2018<strong>MTR<\/strong>\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 36pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2; text-align: justify; text-indent: -18pt;\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">\u00b7<span style=\"font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt\/normal 'Times New Roman';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><strong>Switch off the mains supply or unplug the charger from the controller<\/strong>.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centsys.co.za\/\">CENTURION<\/a> gate motors, the charger is normally situated directly opposite the battery and may be <strong>black or greyish-green in colour<\/strong>.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>The reason for eliminating the \u201ccharging voltage\u201d is so that the voltage you read from the battery is not biased<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 36pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2; text-align: justify; text-indent: -18pt;\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">\u00b7<span style=\"font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt\/normal 'Times New Roman';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Unless the battery is completely depleted, <strong>the gate should start to move<\/strong> the instant you connect touch the motor wires to the terminals.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Don\u2019t be startled \u2013 this is what it\u2019s meant to do!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 36pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2; text-align: justify; text-indent: -18pt;\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">\u00b7<span style=\"font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt\/normal 'Times New Roman';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">This is where the extra pair of hands comes in.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>Ask your assistant to <strong>measure the voltage across the battery terminals while the gate is moving<\/strong>, i.e. while you are holding the motor wires to the terminals<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 36pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2; text-align: justify; text-indent: -18pt;\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">\u00b7<span style=\"font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt\/normal 'Times New Roman';\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">The battery voltage should <strong>at no stage drop below 11V DC under load<\/strong>.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\">\u00a0 <\/span>If it does, it is safe to say that your battery needs replacement<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt 36pt; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo2; text-align: justify; text-indent: -18pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Symbol; mso-bidi-font-family: Symbol; mso-fareast-font-family: Symbol;\"><span style=\"mso-list: Ignore;\">\u00b7<span style=\"font-size-adjust: none;
